Eyebrow lift

The brow lift of eyebrows, also known as lift of eyebrows or endoscopic forehead lift, is a surgical procedure a17> cosmetic procedure designed to raise the position of the eyebrows, restore the expressiveness and rejuvenate the look.

Using this technique, you can smooth out the wrinkles on the forehead, reduce the lines of expression on the brow and give the face a look much more fresh and rested.

Over the years, the skin loses its firmness and elasticity. This, combined with changes in facial volume, causes the eyebrows to drop below their natural arch, giving the face a tired or even sad appearance. The eyebrow lift aims to reposition them in their correct place, restoring balance and harmony to the upper third of the face.

Even the slightest lift of eyebrows can transform the appearance of the eye socket significantly, achieving a look that is more open and bright. It is sufficient to lower by about two or three millimetres for the face to look more aged and the eyes to look looks more sad and tired.

This procedure can be carried out either surgically or non-surgically, depending on the characteristics of each patient.

In some cases, it is combined with blepharoplasty (on the upper eyelids), particularly when there is excess skin on the upper eyelids.

Why do eyebrows drop?

How is a brow lift performed

An eyebrow lift is a quick and safe procedure, which usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes and is carried out on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia with sedation.

There are various techniques that are minimally invasive and painless and designed to restore this area of your face to its normal position, ensuring that it is raised, in a permanent manner.

• Endoscopic eyebrow lift (performed via the scalp using micro-incisions).
• Direct eyebrow lift (an incision is made at the outer edges of the eyebrows and excess skin is removed).
• Transblepharoplasty (a direct lift starting from the eyebrows).

All the techniques aim to achieve the same result: to reshape the eyebrows in a way that is harmonious, natural and without visible scars.

To determine the best technique in each case, prior to the surgery, a comprehensive eyelid and ophthalmological examination is carried out.

About a week before the operation, the strength of the muscles that lower the eyebrows should be reduced in order to achieve a better result.

Recovery after an eyebrow lift

After a brow lift, it is normal to experience mild discomfort, a feeling of tightness, tingling, minor bruising or swelling. These effects gradually subside during the first week.

The surgeon usually recommends post-operative care such as:

• Application of cold packs or compresses containing ice.
• Use of painkillers, anti-inflammatories or antibiotics.
• Adequate rest and avoiding strenuous physical exertion during the first few days.

In approximately 10 days the stitches are removed and the majority of patients can return to their social and working lives within 2 or 3 days. The results are visible from the start, although the final appearance is noticeable once the inflammation has disappeared completely.

Risks and safety of the eyebrow lift

Among the complications that are rare are:
