At Pedralbes Clinic, we operate in our own operating theatre within our premises on Paseo de Manuel Girona in Barcelona. We do not transfer our patients to external facilities: the entire procedure—preparation, surgery and recovery—takes place in a single space under the supervision of our medical team.

Our operating theatre holds ISO 7 certification** (UNE-EN ISO 14.644-2000), the same standard as those hospital operating theatres of the first level, and is authorised to practise major outpatient surgery (CMA).

What does it mean when an operating theatre has ISO 7 certification?

ISO 7 certification ensures that the air in the operating theatre is treated with absolute filters a9> which remove microparticles in suspension, with an overpressure of 25 Pa. This drastically reduces the risk of infection during surgery.

Not all private cosmetic surgery centres have their own operating theatres with this certification. Many clinics use shared or rented operating theatres in external hospitals, which means they have less control over the environment and safety protocols.

At Pedralbes Clinic, the ISO 7 operating theatre is part of our own facilities: we maintain it, we certify it and we operate in it using our own protocols.
